Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.
Hey. Hey. Tumblr. Ides of March ppl. We can do this
Hell yeah moon holiday
One of the only thing the 2000s had going for it was the mythbusters. Those dudes ruled, nobody hated the mythbusters, I mean they hated each other but nobody else hated the mythbusters
An entire generation of scientists, engineers, and psychos with access to amphetamines owe so much to them
The Dope is a versatile platform intended for civilian as well as military use. The lava-walker is an especially exotic example of the civilian side: heavily overhauled with a complex heat dispersal system allowing it to function in the hostile environment of the volcanic flats. Because of the configuration of the system, the cockpit has been moved into the head unit with simple, hardened camera eyes to guide it.
Lava-walkers are used to maintain the geothermal energy stations nestled in the lava flats, providing vast amounts of energy to the population centres in the midlands and cactus plains. The tool held in its hand is a hybrid cutter/welder - power stations themselves usually have spare parts on hand in case of emergency, although the mech can also carry parts-boxes too if needed.

1,500 drones light up the sky over Shenzhen on June 22 with a flying dragon
this amazing display kicked off China's Dragon Boat Festival, taking place on the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese calendar, commemorating the ancient poet Qu Yuan
Wow!

More of this! Less fireworks!
See this is what should be done instead of ads
shout out to people who's family isnt entirely bad or entirely good, but something in between and you dont know how to feel about them. you feel angry but you also feel guilty, because you know they genuinely love and care about you, but sometimes they show it in a way you know its not okay. your feelings are valid, your anger and sadness and grief are valid, and you dont have to prove this to no one. bigger shout out to those with memory issues who know something isnt right but can't recall all of the bad events, only the feelings, which only increases the guilt.
to be perfectly honest. i don't care if it is cheesy or cliched or idealistic. i like stories where the core of it is about kindness, the warmth we can offer others and the gentleness we receive in return. maybe the moral of the story IS love triumphs. it better fucking be
